Hours of business

Business and government hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Shops are open from 8:00am to 8:30pm, daily. Most stores in Shanghai, however, remain open until 10:30pm.

Most Chinese workers take a break between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Everything practically "shuts down" during this period.
